In many operating systems when you want to protect your file with password so you have to download or purchase a application and this is very hard and time taking process but the great for Ubuntu/linux users they don't want to purchase any application. In this post I am giving the direct way to protect your folder with password.
Step-1:- Select the particular folder which you want to protect with password.
Step-2:- Than right click on selected folder and goto compress...
Step-3:- The window pop up click on drop-down menu 'other option'.
Step-4:- Give the password in the field below and create what type of file you want. (.gz,.zip,.tar etc)
Step-5:- After that you see the .zip folder in the location that you select.
Step-6:- Open the folder and click the file you want to use and the new window pop up enter the password and click ok.
